Who we are
Longspan is a specialist roof and building envelope consultancy. We help building owners and their advisers understand the true condition of their roofs, keep manufacturer warranties valid, and plan maintenance and capital spend with confidence.
The company was founded by experienced directors who bring together decades of combined experience across roofing consultancy and contracting. That dual background matters: we understand not just how roofs are specified and built, but how and why they fail in service, and what it really takes to extend their life.
Our mission
To provide accurate, reliable and technically robust inspections, surveys and maintenance support that extend roof lifecycles, reduce water ingress risk, and protect capital expenditure for building owners.
Impartial by design
We are a consultancy, not a contractor. Because we don't install or sell roofing systems and aren't tied to any manufacturer, our advice is genuinely impartial. When we recommend a repair, a maintenance regime or a replacement, it's because the evidence supports it, not because it suits us commercially.
For clients under pressure to justify spend to boards, insurers and auditors, our independence is a key market differentiator.

We combine on roof inspection by qualified surveyors with CAA approved drone capture, thermographic imaging and moisture mapping, then translate the findings into clear, professionally structured reports.
Physical, drone and thermographic survey matched to the building, its access and its risk profile.
Condition grading, severity scoring, moisture mapping and prioritised remedial actions.
Lifecycle budget forecasts and PPM programmes you can put straight into capital planning.
Health and safety is built in: RAMS are produced before every physical inspection, drone operations follow CAA regulations, and we work to CDM standards throughout.
